But cybercrime can be committed from anywhere, in some cases with the blessing or at least blind eye from local authorities. I can't think of any historical precedence for this. I first thought of Privateers, but they risked very physical harm.Permalink

Is deterrence even possible in the cyber world? Currently the risk for most seems to be getting doxed/indicted, and even that is rare. wired.com/story/doj-indicts-hackers-samsam-ransomware/Permalink
