For a technology which is as old I am*, I am amazed with NFS for being able to reboot the host without borgbackup, which was actively using the mount, seeming to mind other than some delay. *NSFv4 is newer but still ~20 years old

On the flip side, I was surprised that I had to reboot the host at all. nfsd had just hung and nothing except a hard reboot helped. Two or three decades of development is still no guarantee that it will work :-(Permalink
